While not new, value-based models in healthcare reflect a growing shift towards outcomes-focused care and reimbursement.  This session will explore models that prioritize quality over quantity, and highlight results achieved.  In addition, we will examine the state of alternative payment structures in Colorado, such as bundled payments and accountable care organizations (ACOs).  How are recent changes in government programs like Medicare and Medicaid helping to advance value-based programs?  What roles do bio-tech and pharmaceutical companies play in driving value over quantity?  Are value-based trends signaling a progressive move towards a healthcare landscape that rewards healthy outcomes, improves health, and optimizes resource allocation? And finally, how can we ensure that value-based programs are benefiting the whole healthcare ecosystem?
