Our association has grown into the strong professional network it is because of the consistent, enthusiastic support of volunteers. Volunteering is a great way to network with other area healthcare professionals.
Join the excitement by helping CHSM in one of these areas:
REGISTRATION DESK
Each CHSM program attracts about 100 attendees – and they all need to be registered. In exchange for your help, you’ll receive a complimentary breakfast and registration for that morning’s program. Getting involved is easy:
STEP 1: Email our Volunteer Coordinator () with your availability. If we need your help, we’ll contact you and ask you to commit at least one week before the program.*
STEP 2: Register for the program as usual via email to . Include your name, title and contact information. Make sure you note that you’ll be a registration volunteer so your fees are waived.
STEP 3: Arrive at the desk by 7:00 am on the day of the event to work for approximately one hour. If you’re a new volunteer, our board members will train you and work with you.
PROGRAM PLANNING
Every May, our Program Chairs convene a brainstorming session where all interested CHSM members gather to suggest and discuss program ideas for the upcoming year. These discussions shape our program agenda. If you’re interested in attending the May brainstorming session, watch for an email notification this spring, or check Upcoming Events on this site. If you have a program idea and/or you’d like to coordinate a program next year, contact our Programs Chair at
PROGRAM COORDINATION
Once our seven programs are chosen for the year, we need Program Coordinators to pull everything together. Ideally, Program Coordinators have in-depth knowledge of the topic area and potential speakers. Excellent coordination and communication skills are a plus.
PROGRAM COORDINATOR
Each May, our Program Chairs convene a brainstorming session where all interested CHSM members gather to suggest and discuss program ideas. The next year's program topics are identified as a result of this meeting, and program coordinators are selected. The job of Program Coordinator requires knowledge of the topic and potential speakers, as well as extensive coordination and communication skills.
If you are interesting in attending the May brainstorming session, watch for an email notification this spring (sent to everyone on our mailing list), or check Upcoming Events on the right side of our web site. If you have a program idea and/or are interested in coordinating a program next year, contact our Programs Chair at .
We very much appreciate great ideas and great organizers!
Thanks again for your interest in volunteering with CHSM.
Our programs could not happen without you!
*Volunteers who commit to work but do not show up will be charged the regular program fee. See our registration policy for more information.
