In June, the University of Colorado Hospital finished what was the largest, most complex and certainly the most difficult health care move going on in the world at that time. The hospital relocated into some of the world’s most advanced, ingeniously designed patient care facilities. And it was building upon a hospital that already has been the scene of many of the state’s – and some of the world’s – medical firsts and best outcomes.
In the process, however, it discovered something unexpected: few people outside the hospital seemed to know what the heck an academic medical center is, or even about the University of Colorado Hospital itself. Bruce Schroffel, UCH’s president and CEO, will tell us what happened, and how he and his staff are working to strengthen and clarify the hospital’s brand.
