Feeling a little busy? A little overwhelmed? It could be worse; you could be Joan Henneberry. As Governor Ritter’s appointee to lead the Department of Healthcare Policy and Financing, Henneberry could hardly have more on her plate.

The Blue Ribbon Commission for Health Care Reform is working on an eagerly anticipated report that has important implications for the state as it moves towards fixing what’s wrong with health care in Colorado. Henneberry is focusing on shoring up existing public insurance programs in preparation for the Commission’s recommendations.

On the Medicaid front, rate-setting for providers is being scrutinized as the state attempts to figure out how to get more health care providers to care for Colorado’s population of Medicaid recipients.

In the longterm care arena, Henneberry is reviewing "aging in place" and ways to make communities more "aging friendly."

Finally, there’s the elephant that’s always in the room, Colorado’s growing list of uninsured residents and what to do about this dilemma.

See, you weren’t that busy afterall! Come on Friday, April 27th to learn how Henneberry is approaching our state’s many healthcare challenges.
